Chris Faddis is first a devoted husband to Angela and father to Gianna and Augustine. He is also a Catholic writer and speaker and serves as Director of Youth Ministry at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Winston-Salem, and North Carolina Area Contact for Life Teen, Inc. an international Catholic youth ministry organization. His writing has appeared in publications such as The Catholic Sun, Life Teen’s Spotlight, as well as other Life Teen resources. Chris is also author and publisher of www.livinggracefully.net which offers daily inspiration for Catholic living. His writings can also be found at the Integrated Life Channel on Catholic Exchange as well as  www.catholicyouthministry.com where he writes on topics related to youth ministry.

He has worked in Catholic Youth Ministry for over ten years and has spoken at Catholic events across the country. When Chris was sixteen years old he met Pope John Paul II at a general audience in Rome. He was so moved not only by his words but by his presence. “…what I will never forget was a moment that may not have lasted long in which I looked into his eyes. It was then that I began to understand why his presence was so overwhelming. I saw in his eyes a love that I had never seen before,” Faddis said. “I saw the weight of God’s love in those eyes.” (The Catholic Sun, September 11, 2007) That encounter has lead Chris to understand his own personal call in life to share that love with all those he encounters. He has since been profoundly impacted by John Paul II’s teachings on the family, sexuality, and the universal call to Holiness.

Chris is most known for his speaking on topics related to Catholic spirituality and the Call to Holiness. His message is born out of a sincere desire to seek Holiness and the trials that he has encountered along the way. Chris believes strongly that God is calling us back to the simplicity of complete and utter trust in His will for our lives. He speaks to the hearts of young and old alike about the struggle to be completely reliant on God’s grace, mercy, and providence in our lives.

While Chris has been speaking on these topics for several years it was a recent “odyssey” that led he and his family to the door of homelessness and ultimately into complete and utter trust in God’s will for their lives. “We were at the point when we knew that nothing we did was working, that we had been putting to many pre-conditions on God’s will and we finally were able to give it all over to him. We had finally said, ‘okay Father God, if you want us to live in poverty, we will. We trust you will provide for our needs.’ Within two weeks we were out of the pit and into an incredibly Grace filled situation. The pieces have fallen together so effortlessly.” Faddis said.

Chris believes that in this difficult time for so many of us in our Country God is trying to call us back to Him. “It is in clinging to Christ’s Grace and Mercy that we find peace and freedom from the things of this world that bind us.”

Chris is available to lead retreats for adults and teens, youth ministry trainings, parish missions, conferences, and more.
