As you may remember, last summer I was asked to go to Germany to minister at the European Catholic Youth Conference which was a conference for Catholic youth who live on U.S. military bases around Europe. It was an incredible weekend and opened my heart to military youth ministry.
These teens have been living all over the world for many years. Many of them not living in the same place for more than 2 years at a time. Many of them have one or more parent away on deployment. They need …

“We are not the sum of our weaknesses and failures, we are the sum of the Father’s love for us and our real capacity to become the image of his Son.” Venerable Pope John Paul II
We live in a world that measures our worth by success and failures. We live in a world of many false pretenses. We can never measure up to the expectations of these pretenses. We have these pretenses for what is success, what is happiness, what is a “good life”. They will forever fail to satisfy …

So, 20.10 is already in full steam. We are 1/12th of the way through and I’m once again amazed at how fast life moves. I wanted to stop and give a few updates to you all about the site, about the ministry, and maybe a little about my own life. Hope you don’t mind the self-focus for a moment – but the blogging experts say that updates are important – so here we go.

The earthquake in Haiti has completely devastated the people of that country. We are all moved with compassion for the victims.
I don’t have much to give but I do have a good reach through hundreds of friends online and through this website. It is our Facebook Fan Box – that’s right www.livinggracefully.net now has a Facebook page where you can connect with other readers, receive daily messages of encouragement and inspiration, share your prayer requests and I’ll even be writing some exclusive content just for those on the Facebook Page.

I’m excited to announce that I just optimized www.livinggracefully.net for use on iPhones and other Touch devices. It is also supposed to work fairly well on Blackberry’s and possibly other smart phones. You still have the option of viewing it in its normal form if you prefer – but simply using the view toggle at the bottom of the page. Let me know how you like it!
This is just one of many upgrades and improvements to this site as we head into 2010!

YOU CAN READ MY FOLLOW UP ARTICLE WITH THE FULL DETAILS OF THE WHOLE WEST STORY BY CLICKING THIS LINK.
Christopher West was on ABC’s Nightline on Thursday night in a feature about the Theology of the Body. Other than a few misquotes and misinterpretations the story was fairly well done and hopefully will open the door to allow others to peak in and see what this is all about.
I have long believed that the Theology of the Body is a avenue for evangelization. It’s teachings are not merely about …

Athanasius and the Incarnation
“You can keep it all. Give me full, red blooded Catholicism. Give me the incarnation–Athanasius’ incarnation, and let me be transformed right down to the very deep and dark and dirty parts of me…”
Fr. Dwight Longenecker is fast becoming one of my favorite bloggers. The depth of his words pierce through the shallow layers of my “spirituality” and open the doors to the darkest parts of my heart. Here Fr. Longenecker gives a great reflection on the Incarnation and parallels today’s pop-spirituality with the heretical claims against Christ’s …
