God is Moving – Do You See It?
Do you ever get so busy “moving” and “doing” things you need to do that you forget to stop and allow God to move you?
I have noticed how in my extreme busy-ness these past few weeks I have failed to stop my own “moving” to be aware of God’sĀ moving in and around me.
Today as I sat in Adoration I felt this extreme sense of peace as I realized how much God is moving in grace all around.
I noticed this when I was in Germany and was able to witness the incredible graces poured out on the young people and adult leaders at the European Catholic Youth Conference. I left there feeling as if God sent me there not so much so I could lead the adult sessions and give talks, but more so that I could witness his abundant Grace that is working all around.
I saw this same movement of His Grace when I was in Boston for the Lift Ministries 3rd Anniversary a few days later. God is moving. God is truly moving in profound ways in our own lives and all over the world. Even today as I write this there are people gathering in Houston just for the purpose of stopping to allow God to move them at the Adore Worship Summit.
God truly is moving in our Church, in our world, and he wants to move in our individual lives. I stopped today for prayer and I realized that though I may find my situation desperate at times and feel as though I’m alone in figuring out my problems – God is moving to help me, to show me the way.
Do we stop nearly enough to witness God’s moving in our lives? Do we stop long enough to realize the things he is doing for us?
Today I saw his “moving” in a whole new light. Heaven and earth meet everytime my heart cries out for help – in fact all of heaven turns its attention to me when I call on God’s name. The problem is – I’ve moved on before I’ve allowed God to show me how he is moving on my behalf. Often I find myself going to God in supplicationĀ but leaving the Church with my own solution before I’ve allowed myself to fully place my worry in God’s loving care.
Is this how we ought to pray?
When we go to God with our concerns, worries, fears, and petitions it is not so that we might ask that he give us our desired result – rather it ought to be so that we may place those concerns, worries, fears and petitions in his loving care so that we may rest in his love and worship him without distraction. It is then that we may sit and watch in awe the incredible workings of his Grace and Mercy.
God is moving – in profound ways – all around the world and even in your own life. Heaven is constantly working for your good and my good – for our sanctification. Do you see it? Do I?
