Guest Post: St. Joseph

Happy Father’s day to all you Father’s out there. Today Todd Lemieux shares his reflection on St. Joseph.
Sainthood Sunday: Saint Joseph
By Todd Lemieux
I have no idea if my experience in family is anything like St. Joseph but being the father of two girls means that I am wrong more than I am right.  I think that St. Joseph can relate to me on that one.  When you think about it, who else would it be?
I don’t know if that means that he took the blame for “losing Jesus that one …

Guest Post: “My Dad Paints a Fence”

As we approach Father’s Day I thought it was fitting that we offer a tribute to father’s and a challenge to all father’s to live more gracefully so that they can be for their children the light of Christ. I asked blogger Dan Kenney to write for this series and he offers us another great personal story and insight into what his Dad has given to him. Please continue to pray for father’s everywhere that we might live the call to holiness and lead our families to heaven.
My Dad Paints …

Give your Dad an Incredible Gift

I’m asking for something very simple this year for Father’s Day – I’m actually a day late in asking – but I’m thinking God won’t mind. I’m asking my wife and daughter (who will participate w/limited understanding) to pray the Novena to St. Joseph with me in advance of Father’s Day.
Why? Because I am a sinner – I fail more than I succeed in my role as husband and father and I know that I need to pray and I need prayer. More than ever I am feeling the weight …

Living Gracefully – Part 1

As the title aptly describes this site is all about living in God’s grace. It comes from a realization I had a few years back about the Saints and about what God desires for us. I was about to give a talk on Grace to a group of Confirmation students. I was reflecting on Mary as being full of grace. This was a few weeks before the death of John Paul II and I had been reflecting a lot on his life at the time. John Paul had a great …

Intentional Prayer

When you pray do you truly believe God is listening? Do you truly trust that God is indeed working to answer your prayer? Do you pray with expectation that in some way God will respond?
I realize that often times I pray without real expectation or without real thought that I am in conversation with God. When we pray we ought to leave the experience changed – every single time. I don’t mean that we have some emotional experience, or that we have some manifestation of the gifts of the Holy …

This is from Catholic Exchange’s Integrated Life columnist Katherine Andes. It is a nice article encouraging the use of Twitter. As you probably well know I am a huge Twitter fan. It has expanded my blogging ministry and allowed me to be in contact with some great people. I also love the opportunity to share God’s love through simple messages. Read Katherine’s article below and email me if you need help getting set-up on Twitter. – Oh yeah and be sure you are following me www.twitter.com/faddicus.

This was posted today by Randy Hain, content-editor for the Integrated Life Channel over at Catholic Exchange.  It is a reflection from In Conversation With God by Francis Fernandez. I found it to be a piercing reminder of our need spend time in quiet with God.
I find myself so focussed on doing and the next project, etc that I seem to find less and less time to allow myself to spend time resting at the heart of Christ. I pray that this little reminder helps you as it has helped …
